The Fibonacci sequence is one of those mathematical enigmas – it repeatedly appears in many seemingly unrelated fields. It has found its way into architecture, computer programming and even arts.
The Fibonacci sequence is based on a series of numbers in which the next number is always the sum of the previous 2 numbers. The sequence starts with 1, 1 and continues. An example of the sequence would look like this: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34 and on.
It comes as no surprise when the Fibonacci sequence found its way into the gaming world – in the form of a betting system.
If we apply the Fibonacci sequence to the Roulette, we end up with a progressive gambling system. With this system we are able to increase our profit. Unlike the martingale system which has you double your bet each time you win, with the Fibonacci system we increase our bets in smaller increments, thus having a little more breathing room before hitting the table limit.
When we lose a round we continue on to the next number in the sequence and when we win we cross out the previous 2 numbers and bet the next number in sequence based on the remaining numbers. The sequence end when you get back to 1. Now you restart the process.
An example of this would look this:
For example, let try the following scenario:
1st Bet 1 unit – lose, 2Nd Bet 1 unit – lose , 3rd Bet 2 units – lose, 4Th Bet 3 units – lose,
5Th Bet 5 units – win. 2 and 3 are crossed out. 6Th Bet 2 units – win. The betting sequence ends.
Once we've successfully completed the sequence we have covered all of our losses with the addition of 1 betting unit. The betting unit could be anything you choose, but it should be reasonably low so that you don't hit the table limit too soon.
This betting system isn't without its flaws – like many others, it's vulnerable to the table limit if you're on a bad losing streak.
